ok i put together a montage of some Akina shots. the fans are suffering a drought right now, so we need to amuse ourselves. haha! enjoy!

OMG. NOSTALGIA OR WHAT!?!?!?! remember Mr Yakki and Mr Wollie? and oh, Miss Lala, and Zizi the Zebra!? now i gotta find a shot of the “Primary English” guidebooks we used to read! they come in a series of colours: red & blue i can recall, but can’t remember the other colours! i used to shiver at the endless tables of collective nouns we had to memorise!
even tho i had been using one (1st gen) this feels totally like a new phone. having so much fun with all the apps and connectivity. the Google Map GPS is tres fun!!
i queued till 3 plus in the morning on 22 August (launch day) and gave up. we went for Teochew porridge instead. they anticipated the crowd, but what they didn’t expect was how long each customer transaction would take. phones needed activation, and those parents who came along with their kids for the purchase were dillay dallying about which phone, which colour to get. so the queue didn’t move.
they gave me a printout so i could collect my phone at any of their outlets the next day (actually later on the same day) which worked alot better. =)
there was this girl who was also Q-ing. she’s super gungho. she was getting one for her bf who’s stationed in Philippines and she was catching a flight in the morning. so she came with her backpack and all. i hope she got the phone before the flight. the things you’d do for love.
as for me, i love my Apple.

why didn’t they tell us this when i was back in Chinese High School? extremely interesting history of our school song. it originated from a song written about a girl who died of tuberculosis! and Cornell University shares the same tune, amongst other schools and universities around the globe.
i love YouTube! 华侨萬歲!
okay guys, it’s official! the iPhone will hit Singapore shores finally at the stroke of midnight on 22 August 2008! i’ve earlier placed a reservation for it last month and just received an email detailing it’s availability and will be one of the first in line for the launch. SingTel is tight-lipped even on their website, so this is really exciting.
most people will no doubt be interested in the phone, but what about the price plans?
it starts from a monthly fee of $56 (1GB bundled date, 200 min outgoing, 500 SMS); $95 (2GB, 500 min, 500 SMS); and a whopping $205 (3GB, 1500 min, 1500 SMS). all plans come with free incoming calls.
now the price of the phone also varies depending on the plan you commit yourself to for 24 months.
$56 iFlexi Value Plan – $348 (8 GB iPhone); $508 (16GB iPhone)
$95 iFlexi Plus Plan – $49 (8GB); $208 (16GB)
$205 iFlexi Premium – iPhone is FREE!!
industry experts had earlier predicted the phone to be retailing at around S$690, so this is alot lower.
there are various collection centres which you can collect the phone, and on various dates. the earliest date is 22 August Midnight at the Hello ComCentre. i’ve booked myself a slot and a 16GB iPhone. A WHITE ONE OF COURSE!
i’ve been using an iPhone for a while now, but the power button got jammed a couple of weeks ago, and there’s no where i can turn to it being an “unofficial” purchase. i’m running on Eugin’s Sony Ericsson (which has the best battery life btw) at the moment, so i’m elated i can finally go legit!! nothing beats being able to upgrade firmware and the OS with a peace of mind without the fear of iBricking the fella.

best one from her current album yet! great remix!
おひさしぶり〜!
lack of updates cos been busy earlier with a trip to Bangkok to property-hunt (saw one 3-bedroom duplex unit by the river front – okay it’s the Chao Phraya River which is perpetually muddy, but it’s one of the most famous rivers in the world – that’s dripping in resplendent gorgeousness, and unfortunately i dun think i can quite afford it yet cos the only unit that’s available is right under the penthouse on the 59th floor! and there’s another one in Sukhumvit which works better within my budget, and is right smack in Thai celeb-ville!) and prep for my Japanese exam.
どうですか?hee hee. にほんごの試験の成績はすごくいいよ〜!i topped my class!!
oral – 10/10
written – 98/100 (残念ね〜!i misread one question, otherwise i could’ve scored full marks!)
i wanna be 伝説の学生!ははは。
健司さんの成績もいいですよ! Kenji got 10/10 for oral too. and 95/100 for his written. i told him he 近珠者赤からです!ほほ。
今から9月まで暇です。それから、日本語のElementary IIの勉強はするんです。やった!日本語はあまり優しくないです、でもとても面白いです。having passed the exams, we can enrol for the next course which will start in September. we’ll start tackling the much-dreaded other forms such as past tense (and the i-can-but-don’t-make-me tense! hahaha), and for Kenji, the Katakana. i look forward to speaking more than the very basic “masu-form”. makes me feel so retarded. hahaha.
so, i intend to self-study until the next course. which reminds me, Kinokuniya has a members 20% sale starting from today!! i’m going to grab all the textbooks!! somebody stop me from opening a Japanese bookstore at home! うちに本屋があります!hahahahaha.
