誠に有り難うございます!

one of my favourite labels is none other than G-Star. i must have at least 15-20 of their jeans. i just can’t resist their cuts and ruggedness. the detailing makes them good enough even for semi-formal dinner spots. since their arrival a couple of years ago, i look forward to their Spring/Summer Party each year with gleeful anticipation. there’s no other feeling better than being high on vino whilst trying on the entire range of sexy wear. they sure know how to get one’s inhibition (wallet wise) lowered.
my major gripe is their footwear. why on earth are they not selling it here? Singapore’s purchasers continue to befuddle me. it didn’t help that the models were parading them in front of me the whole night. i felt like knocking them out in the changing room and ripping them off. one of the models was kind enough to take off his boots for me to cosy up to. they looked good even at 2 sizes too huge!
got a really nice “utility” bag for Shaz cos it’s long enough for her to stuff 6-inch baguettes in there when she studies in France this August. it even came with a matching frenchcap!
Elaine – saw a killer pair of handcrafted minis suited to the t for you. it’s very limited as they only have one for each sizing. do you happen to be a 28? tried calling but you were probably having sex an early night. i did get something else for you though!! will wait till our next meeting (obviously when Ig’s away, hahahahaha).
as for me? duncha worry. shopping is my middle name! went home with two huge bags of loot.

we had a most wonderful evening (before that we got stuck in severely heavy traffic but it was worth the hassle) at Fort Canning Hill catching Ballet Under The Stars, courtesy of Club 21 (i love you Christina Ong!! i will buy more clothes from you, stay in your hotels, and buy lots of Apple products, fankeow! hahaha!) who were so thoughtful they provided us with a really lovely picnic basket chockful of quiche, tarts, finger sandwiches, fruits, and free flow rose wine! we brought along our bottle of yellow elixir and flutes plus two fab muffins (thank you Jojo Sinclair for sacrificing two of them).
it was also Kenji’s very first ballet performance. ideally it should have been something less “slow” like Nutcracker. lead female dancer was great. the boys were quite forgettable, dancing like i could when i was 12 before i quit ballet. tonight, i felt i made the right choice in life forgoing my pursuit to be a dancer by profession. i would have been too small to dance any principle parts. besides, i’d much rather be in a tutu doing fun point work than being a man in tights lifting the cha bos.
adjourned to east coast where Shaz introduced THE MOST DIVINE carrot cake with xo sauce from this Hong Kong cafe. i could eat a kilo of that, and die of lard overdose!!!! so nice. will be back!!
thanks for the wonderful company and banter guys. it wouldn’t be the same without you.

fresh outta the oven. after narrowing it down to a final 2, i had a really hard time deciding which one i liked better. sat on it for a coupla days and this is it! i love it cos it’s resembles so much like the product. can’t say more except, stay tuned!

shaz is top of the dean’s list this semester again. omedetto! who said beauty no have brains? but what did they say about beauty sending pictures that are always too small? lol. can you please resend them in their original glories? i love the shot of Kenji and myself. the colours look so temperate! can anyone spot a new addition to our group? kekekeke.

oh mao goodness. she slipped and fell hard right before launching into her triple axel, something so difficult few dare to even try. but she picked herself up and delivered a flawless performance only a true champion could. and yes, she went on to deliver perfect triple axel combos 6 times later, clinching top spot by less than a mere point. she’s only 17. can’t wait to see her in the Olympics.

this was her Short Programme. so much energy and fluidity. watch and shiver.

i’m super glad Utada is back in her top form. i mean how disastrous was her English venture EXODUS? ew. but HEART STATION is drippin’ with renewed inspiration from the first track till the last. most excellent production and mixing. BIG SLURPS!
i remember discovering Jay Chou way before he got any attention. i came across his first album and was immediately captivated by the album cover, with him being all shady and cleverly angled to conceal a full exposure of his face. bear in mind that was during an era when all singers were poster material. Jay doesn’t quite cut it in the looks department (many will differ now, but i’ll chalk it up to confidence that he’s acquired over the years) so i knew that had to be someone with the chops in the music department for the studios to bet their money on him. anyway, first track i was hooked. his debut album remains his most stunning and i thought to myself what a gem! how come no one’s listening to him? the rest is history.
after he became mainstream, i kinda still buy his subsequent releases but i rarely spin them more than twice or thrice. i get turned off by anything mainstream really.
anyway, i was going through my CD library earlier this evening looking for my Sandy Lam CDs (wanted some old tracks which she performed in her Live 07 – excellent live recording that has just been released btw) and then i discovered my row of Jay Chou CDs. i’m ripping all of them into my iTunes now.
my favourite Jay Chou song? “愛在西元前”. it’s got all the Jay Chou signature elements packed into one song. whoooh!
