goodrich native wild party

after Leslie’s exhibition, we had to rush down to the Goodrich (they’re one of the most established wallpaper suppliers in the world) party which was more than halfway through by the time we got there. thankfully there was still food (everything was yum except the chicken drumlets, which i didn’t try cos i trusted Kenji’s review) and endless flow of wine! Goodrich was unveiling their new headquarter showroom (gorgeously designed by Moh) and launching their new wallpaper series. they had a black office chic (or native wild but i’d rather not do animal prints cos it’s good as fashion suicide) theme which explains the twin effect between Kenji and i. hahaha. it was a great night with the ging gang (did i mention the endless booze?) and Moh is another local talent i’m very proud of!

leslie kee superstars exhibition

we had the great opportunity and honour to attend Leslie Kee’s Superstars exhibition the night before, and we also got to meet up with the celebrated photog finally! all thanks to Jamez, who’s Leslie’s good buddy, for hooking us up. we all share a common love – that is Akina. Leslie has worked with so many mega stars, but he is a huge Akina fan himself, which says alot! it’s a pity she didn’t involve herself in this project. Jamez, we spoke briefly about Akina and got some juicy tidbits! i think we drove across the message to Leslie enough that night. that we’re depending on and rooting for him to shoot some gorgeous pix of the Utahime! Leslie promised he wouldn’t give up trying. YAY!

i find it embarrassing and disappointing that the local authorities didn’t give the event and Leslie’s work more of the endorsement/recognition they deserved. i mean come on, you want local talent? here’s a BIG one sweeties. why is anyone surprised we’re bleeding talents to overseas? i cannot imagine what it’ll be like for Leslie if he had stayed put here to make his mark.

Leslie, we’re very proud of you and thanks for the huge autograph! we’re counting on you to put Akina on the cover of Japanese Vogue! hahaha. go get her, tiger!

the latest cryptic LED watch from the guys at TokyoFlash. it’s so impractical it’s nice, as with many creative designs. my designer Moh (i call him Uncle Moh) is a huge fan of these LED watches. wonder if i should get him one as a pressie for when the house is completed. i’m sure he’ll be delighted. hee.

we’ll be moving soon, so i’m bulldozing thru my wardrobe and sorting them into 3 big piles:

1) to keep
2) to give
3) to throw!

i just dumped a huge pile into the chute. getting rid of things can be extremely therapeutic. i found so many clothes and bags and accessories which i never thought i had, and many of which i haven’t worn/used! omg. interestingly many of the old clothes still fit me well, even tho i’ve put on some meat, and i fill them out differently now. i’m going to be wearing some of the old clothes over the next couple of weeks. it’ll be fun!

i used to be really good at harbouring old stuff/clothes and found it difficult to junk them. eg: i was still wearing my secondary school briefs (Giordano no less!) up till two years ago. and i just threw out earlier, the last of my Bossini briefs which i wore during my JC years. <—- beat that! the reason i can still wear them isn’t cos my manparts didn’t grow bigger (ew!) but cos the briefs lost their elasticity and became more er, accomodating. they were so thin before i threw them out. and the Giordano “frog” logo was hanging by the thread!! got lobangs here and there one! so funny lah.

these days, i am alot more ruthless. and i have to cos i buy so much clothes i run outta wardrobe space very easily. and having everything chucked in paper bags sucks! we have an entire room converted into wardrobe space in our new place, but i have this imminent feeling that it’s probably just nice for what i have now. and i’m not even sure it is! haha.
