I was just thinking the other day if it’s even relevant these days to learn how to write Kanji properly with the advent of auto-completions by modern day gadgets. Tofugu sums it up nicely with a syndrome he coins as “Kanji Amnesia.”

お久しぶり！It’s been a week since I relocated to Tokyo. The past week has been all about settling into my abode, buying things, and buying more things for the pad (these things include – toiletries, groceries, rice cooker & cooking ingredients – yes I have started cooking!!! I KNOW I KNOW!! Even I find it unbelievable!), catching up with Sharon (I finally got to meet Jerome – what a laidback, down-to-earth and easy going chap!), trying to get used to this Japanese keyboard (how on earth can they squeeze 4 characters into one button!?), getting used to the sun rising at 4-ish (HATE the long days!! Cos I am a bat!) and generally spending alot of time getting around!

This is a quick and dirty post just to get my hands warmed up about blogging again. WHAT!? I’m still doing this? You know how it is, with FB, Twitter, I already feel like I run 2 round-the-clock personal blogs! But both said platforms do not allow lengthy more thoughtful posts. I dun really have the luxury of time these days, with work, and now with the newly-found occupation as a language student – I’m just asking for it, trying to add another something to my O-Sara (read: plate)! Thinking of changing the blog design. We shall see.

More soon! But just to let you know I am well, and my Japanese still sucks.

I chanced upon FreeTEMPO during my trip to Tokyo last week and have been totally floored by his stuff. FreeTEMPO is a solo unit by Japanese DJ-Singer-Songwriter-Producer (whoa!) 半沢武志 Takeshi Hanzawa. He just brought out his final album as FreeTEMPO in conjunction with his 10th Anniversary this month (and boy am I glad I sampled the understatedly designed CD on display). Henceforth, he’ll drop his pen name. Here’s a lovely electronica remix* of the single “Power of Love” he produced, wrote, composed for Korean heart throb Minki Lee (who resembles BryanBoy imo! Haha).
