How to Eat a Chicken Wing

Dec 8th, 2009

those who know me know i cannot resist a good chicken wing. i can have 20 of them in one seating. but as my metabolism continues to spiral downwards exponentially due to age, tackling 20 has sadly become a fantasy best left alone. however, there’s nothing to stop me from better attacking a well deserved chicken wing when the occasion calls for! i must have eaten over a thousand chicken wings in my whole life (is that an understatement? HOW MANY have YOU eaten? do you even have any slight idea?) but i’ve never discovered this way to savour one. so i am dedicating this to all my chicken wing kakis out there! bon appetite!

i think Google is trying to kill their employees. they serve their very own lethal (and i mean literally lethalally) combo Krispy Kreme Bacon Cheeseburgers. that thing screams HEART ATTACK!

we’ve started our Body Attack classes. once a week. super siong ah!! there’s this super tok gong ang mo lady in our class – she’s tall, lean, pretty, poised, and looks great throughout the hour-long session whilst i pant like mad between sets. the calves and thighs burn so much. veggie legs after each class. i hope to get better each week. new routine next week. let’s hope they have fun steps.

i wanna get started with the Body Jam classes too. it’s been a while since i danced choreography!

also, shd get rolling with yoga once a week. so 3 classes each week, alternating with resistance training every other day. =)

doing ok diet wise. being a lao cai myself now, i’ve started to enjoy eating more fruits and veggie which i didn’t particularly enjoy nor detest in the past – if there’s some on the table/fridge i’d eat. but now, i’d buy fruits!! what a change. my current addiction – Japanese pears.

ieatishootipost just gave Hey Hey! a raving review. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go try it if you haven’t. one of my favouritest steamboat places.

must tries: winter melon soup base, fried fish skin (you can have it crispy as it’s being served, or dip it into the soup for a split second for just that wee coat of soup, or dunk it in until it’s soggy – so many ways, all yummy!), char siew dumplings (and you dump it into the soup too!), and try the water chestnut, carrot, sugar can drink. super nice.

and when you’re there, look for this sweet lady called Long Har (cantonese for lobster) and tell her Daniel sent you! they have excellent service there. fankeow!

oh sorry, one more thing – if you take can take spicy – go for their extreme chilli mix, Terence Cao’s very own special concoction.

HH got me my Elixir of Youth and Happiness Machine!!! we decided on the Essenza eventually cos it’s really compact, cute, and best suited for our office desk. the last time i was so excited was when i was in Dolce & Gabbana trying on their SS collection, and before that, in a toy shop going absolutely mad over… er, Blythe Dolls.

i enjoyed the entire shopping experience so much!! they were still unpacking, and apparently, they’ve sold out their first batch of gorgeous machines (20 machines sold each day; i really pity the people trying to sell Jura and Delonghi machines in the next store). the staff were knowledgeable of the product and the coffee range, as well as the accessories (we got a nice cup and saucer set; spoon set; and beautiful glass bowl for the coffee capsules; almost bought a bag for the machine too… yes! the machine got bag one okay? and very glam some more. for those occasions where you’re gathering at a friends place but he/she isn’t really big on coffees and they don’t even stock up on 3-in-1s).

customers kept streaming in when we were there, all evidently intrigued by the machines and how they’ve brought coffee drinking to a whole new level and concept. the idea behind Nespresso is that coffee isn’t a luxury. it’s a lifestyle. these are the people who truly understand how to deliver moments of genuine coffee pleasure and indulgence. i’m just so glad there are people who enjoy coffee as much as i do. people who believe in creating the ultimate coffee experience for coffee connoisseurs.

anyone who buys a machine becomes a member of The Nespresso Club. you get a slew of personalised services (including delivery of coffee capsules to your door step after ordering them online), special offers, technical advice, and t-loaning of a machine when you send yours in for servicing. cool right? but what blew my head off is the fact that they have exceptional “Special Club” and “Limited Edition” Premium Blend coffees each year only for club members. these are rare coffees with astonishing characters, produced in very small quantities, by dedicated growers. amazing isn’t it?

there’s so much about the Nespresso concept that i can go on and on and on. they believe that a good cup of coffee begins right at the plantations. they kickstarted this unique program, the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality Program – designed to ensure that the growers from whom they purchase the precious harvests really do benefit from their commitment to quality. they ensure that the coffee growers are paid well and that the economy is sustainable, as opposed to “enslavering” the trade. isn’t it nice to be able to drink a cuppa with a clear conscience, with awareness of the origins of the steaming brew you’re holding?

so, i ended up buying hundreds of capsules, with a good mix of all 12 flavours. i can’t wait to set up the machine and go mad on caffeine overdose!!!

this is the best poison ever. BIG FANKEOW TO HH!!! =)

the Japanese have done it again! this time they’ve mixed purikura with chocolates! upload up to three pictures to the Decochoco website, customize them in a digital purikura-esque fashion, and then have the results printed up on the chocolate wrappers!

zenithxtreme.jpg

the gravity-defying (and crazily priced at $500,000) Zenith Defy Xtreme Tourbillon Zero-G Watch is specially crafted to maintain its accuracy in extreme gravity and waterproof down to 1,000 feet. nice, but i can’t justify why i’d wear something like that on my wrist when i can drive an Aston Martin!

ooh, what an ingenious way of dressing up those homogenous looking iPod earplugs! the flower ones are a bit lian but i quite like the cross and the Spade Ball.

but i think i like the Emotibles better! kawaii~!

when i saw the Alfa Romeo concept car Competizione a coupla years back, i was blown away. but take a look at the 2-seater 8C Spider which will be making its first appearance at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. it will only have a limited run of 500. tres sexy!
