transfusion required

the past few days have been rather intense for me. the biggie was Kenji got hospitalised due to severe blood loss after two surgeries (the second was to stem the blood loss but it obviously didn’t work). after a third and 2 bags of blood transfusion, the poor boy is doing better now.

when i saw him in that really heartbreaking state yesterday at the hospital (face and lips white as bedsheets, face contorted in pain, laying motionless)…  i was confronted by the vulnerability of the human body, but more so the transcience of life and the moments we may have with our loved ones.

having been quite maxed out with all that brain activity over the workfront (new strategies for the new year, redeployment of staff and managing underperformers), my finances (it’s all good but doing an annual review of my finances with my financial advisor got me into strategising mode, and have to think of investment options, commitments, future objectives, etc), Japanese class (the last class almost caused a brain haemorrhage)…其れに, i was emotionally quite exhausted after having been through successive bad news that had hit the friends round me. the dam’s gotta break sooner or later right? so i found myself crying uncontrollably at iCafe the other day after receiving news that my business has won an award. and again on my drive to the hospital cos i was so worried. it may be overtly dramatic, but i was afraid of losing a person so dear to me. and i couldn’t stop fearing the day i lose my grandma, my mum, HH, my friends… everyone who is not replaceable. everyone who each makes up a part of me, and collectively, making me whole.

anyway, those two sobbing sessions took care of that pent up well. =)

i’ve locked down my quarterly trip to BKK. i have so much to say to the 4FB. and i really need to be alone to think about so many things.

Kenji, get well soon. i’m right here feeling rather helpless, but i can entice you with gou lou yok. speedy recovery.

digging スエミツ アンド ザ スエミス‘s rock piano sound currently. a Japanese solo project headed by Suemitsu Atsushi (末光篤) who composes, writes, and performs both on the piano and vocals with so much finesse. what a sexy talent! check out the video – they totally trashed the white piano. beautiful.
